Wow, this is like Deja Vu all over again!  I read an article about a woman rodeo rider who was in a relationship with Neil after his divorce from Marcia but before Rae. She said she lived with him for a while and was a very nice man. That's all she said about him. Maybe they all have agreed to keep quite about their lives with Neil because Neil likes to keep things private and they all agreed to do that for him. It might not have anything to do with money or settlements...maybe it's just because he is a nice man and they don't want to cause him any distress. When he split from Rae he said in an interview that she was the one who left because she felt she needed to deal with her back problems on her own. Neil said that he wanted to marry her but she didn't want to "ruin a good thing" by getting married. Neil also has said he wanted to be there to help Rae through her difficulties. In any event, when they broke up in 2008 Katie was on the scene helping to produce his "Home Before Dark" CD (and later the HAN MSG CD & DVD). She is in one of the pictures in the "HBD" liner notes. Not long before Neil announced his engagement to Katie he said in an interview that "sometimes a woman just falls in your lap." He had just been asked if he would be interested in pursuing another relationship. I think he was beginning to let it be known that there was someone already there. That "lap" comment might have been referring to the fact that right about the time Rae and Neil broke up Katie was already there. Not that there was anything happening between them, just that Neil already knew her from the Azoff company. His CD "Home Before Dark" was released in around May 2008. That means it was being recorded and produced in the previous 6-12 months and being prepared for release. It's quite possible that Neil and Katie knew each other for quite a number of months before he and Rae broke up. Not saying there was anything between them before Neil and Rae broke up...but that they probably knew each other well before the break-up. Some people just can't handle being on their own, it seems Neil is like that. I know a few people who have never lived alone! Never! Actually, it boggles my mind--lol--but some people just don't like it or can't handle it. So, when Neil and Rae broke up, it might have seemed to be a very good thing to have Katie around! I hope it works out well for Neil.  Hugs, MM

Before this thread deteriorates into a guessing whether Neil is happy or not by looking at photos or videos, I'll remind people that the place for that is here.

Here's the thing:  None of us will/do know if Neil is happy or not.  Won't happen.  None of us are family or friends.  It's just all speculation...

I dont see where we are assuming the worst about other people, or any obsession with Rae.  We are commenting from time to time on Neil's partners, because we are interested in him, so we are interested in his important relationships, we also comment on his children when there are pix of them here.  It comes up every so often that some of us are not seeing loving looks between Neil and Katie, alltho others of us are, because we want him to be happy in his current relationship.

why do some want to assume the worst about other people? Wanting to dig up dirt on past relationships. Have g you ever considered there may not be as much dirt as you think? I'm also not sure what the obsession with Rachel is either. Both she and Marcia are private citizens. They could say or leak whatever they want, but neither has. If you don't think he looks happy in the video with Katie you must be looking at the wrong one. Just let him be happy.
