Neil Diamond - Kennedy Center Honors

"I loved John Lithgow introduction, you can tell he's a huge fan. All 4 performers were good but Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland did outstanding version of "hello again." *** Most of you probably know, but Sugarland includes…"

"Melissa,  HELL YEAH. I agree with you 100%. I quit IAIS because of the nasty replies from some of the members if you said "anything" they didn't like.  And I almost quit SWEET CAROLINE because of the…"

richard shirley replied to Alyce V's discussion How tall do you think Neil Diamond is ?
"Alyce, In an interview a few years back, Neil himself said he was 5"11&1/2" tall.  DIamond said he ALMOST made 6' but not quite. Can't remember the magazine presently,if I do, I'll let you know."

THANKS FOR ALL OF THE VIDEOS

Just a thank you to all of you that have posted videos of European tour. Really glad he is singing "Glory Road" and "I've Been This Way Before," 2 of my very favorites and 2 very powerful songs. He sounds great and is obviously enjoying himself. I'M looking forward to seeing him in the U.S. when he tours again.  BTW: On a recent vacation at Hilton Head,SC, at a local restaurant, the singer/guitarist played SWEET CAROLINE every night to great applause and sing a longs. Keep posting those videos…See More

"We have become de-sensitized by profanity in our society to the point many people use it around children and other with little regard, which does bother me. Using it at the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame ceremony where it is almost expected is…"

" Deb, Yes I guess it is ironic as Neil has many many songs hanging around and will forever. Didn't catch it when I chose it but I just think Yesterday's Songs is the worst "hit" song he ever released. (too much…"

"Thanks for the nice comments on my review. I just have a couple of follow-up thoughts. 1. I took it from the reviewers that said he was crass, aggressive, etc. "punk rock" acting meant it in a very positive way. A couple of them said…"

"Nice article Dianne in "Some Respects.".Here's my take. The same rock critics that don't like Diamond being inducted have no problem, in fact embrace others like James Taylor. Nothing against Taylor who IS talented , but is…"

I've Been This Way Before
Solitary Man
Favorite Neil memory?
I like the earlier Neil (1966-1976). I felt his records and concerts represented more of the ARTIST Neil Diamond, than the showman so much. Favorite live concert: 1976 at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, Ga. before about 3000 fans.

Correction to Earlier Post About Older Concert Reviews

I gave a link for concert reviews for Diamond from 1970-2010. Actually, it is from 1970-1993 and then if you go to the homepage of that site, 1998-2008. Sorry for the mistake but still plenty to read.

Concert Reviews From 1970-2010

If you are interested in reading concert reviews of Neil Diamond throughout his career, the link is below. It's from Joe Imholf's Original Neil Diamond Homepage. It's interesting to read the reviews and see the song listings for last 40 years.,etc. Neil has used SOOLAIMON as his opening song many times as he is doing now. When I saw him in 1976 at the Fox Theater in Atlanta, concert actually started with MISSA on tape, then Soolaimon live.  A couple of reviewers raves about "If you Know What…
