I was wondering, “What ever happened to my copy of ‘Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen’?” There are 16 songs on the ‘Up on the Roof: Songs from the Brill Building’. I only have 15. I have had problems with Windows Media Player locking up my music since I switched to Vista a few years ago. Very maddening thing to deal with, still the fact remains; I paid for it so where is it? I miss it!
The song was written by Howard Greenfield. He worked out of the Brill Building in the 1960’s so Neil must have known him. Greenfield wrote with and for Sadaka as well as with and for many others. In 1962 there were 165 music businesses in the Brill Building. Neil must have loved it there.
‘I (Who Have Nothing)’ is a favorite of mine on the ‘Up on the Roof’ album. Okay maybe it’s ‘Don’t Make me Over’ that’s my favorite. Well now that I think about it wouldn’t you agree ‘A Groovy Kind of Love’ is all that? Never mind; maybe it just depends on the day and my mood. Just ‘Save the Last Dance for Me’.
Got to go now, ‘Love Potion Number 9’ is playing. How fun is that!
