His smile towards the end of this video just says it ALL. You can see reflected in his face the knowing that the band aced this song and that the audience really was into it totally.  What he has said so many times about men really being boys at heart is true. Don't you just want to hug him to pieces!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, it was '79 that he had that surgery--beguine tumor on the spine--Yikes that would scare me- 14 hour surgery----that's scarey pffffff !!!  But he said - I believe in London that he has to carry a pillow with him because he still has pain sitting--even after all these years.  What a bummer!!! This is why he and Rae broke up--she had surgery on her back/neck and wound up 10 times worse.  Unable to get any relief--I hope some Dr. in Australia was able to help her. I heard back surgery is not an exact science.  That's the excuse they use when the surgery fails.....:(

Yes, you're right Alyce. As Mary mentioned it was during a Cow Palace performance that year that he had trouble with his leg and that led to his surgery.  Can you imagine dancing around the stage like that and your leg is numb!?!  I think that's amazing.  His dedication to his fans and to the "the show must go on" tradition is extraordinary.  Hugs, MM

I have never seen this performed live before. You know this man might just be an angel that was given to our generation to cherish by some higher power. He certainly is like no other man that I can think of!!!!!!
