Glad you appreciate Neil's version of this song....I love the Walker Brothers Original Recording too Cherry! But there's something about the way Neil sings it with his deep masculine voice & sensitivity that I find so appealing! Have any of you watched the movie "Truly, Madly, Deeply" it's a tearjerker starring Alan Rickman & Juliet Stephenson.... The Walker Brothers Version is featured in it...I defy any of you not to have tears in your eyes!!!...Hugs, Sue

Oh no!  Not another song I thought was Neil's that he didn't write!  Sooo disappointing.  But he does make it his own with his own unique sense of timing and phrasing.  I do love this song and how he sings it.  Unlike Cherry, I think I prefer Neil's version, but that's probably partly because Neil's is the only version I recall until now (listening to Walker Bros. now--not bad!).  Apparently it's written by B. Crewe and B. Gaudio.  We know who that is.  Thanks for bringing it back to our attention, Sue.  Hugs, MM

Love this, Sue. I had my first crush on the Walkers Bros (Scott Walker in particular) when I was about 10. Always been into musicians it seems...Neil didnt write this song to my knowledge but it sounds like one of his somehow. However, I think I prefer the Walkers Bros. version because I associate it with Scott Walkers unmistakeable voice (sorry Neil)
